PRAYER FOR THE FIRST WEEK OF ADVENT - HOPE

Light the first candle of your Advent Wreath for HOPE.

Then you, or another member of the household prays:

“Lord God, we light on this first candle to remind us

that Jesus Christ is the hope of the world!

May Christ bring hope to hearts

that are weary or heavy or sad.

May Christ lift our spirit

as we prepare our hearts and homes for Christmas.

Help us, Lord God, to be a light of hope

to all we meet during these Advent days.

We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ,

our Savior and Lord,

who lives and reigns for ever and ever.

Amen.”

Then all pray: Our Father …

PRAYER FOR THE SECOND WEEK OF ADVENT - PEACE

Light the second candle of your Advent Wreath for PEACE.

Then you, or another member of the household prays:

We light this second candle on our
Advent Wreath for the gift of peace.
Let us pray:
Oh Beloved Jesus,
You have patiently waited for us.
Thank you for reviving us.
We come to You with an open heart.
Bring us to the stillness of Your Soul
and may Your gift of peace guard our
hearts and minds.
Shelter us with Your Mighty calmness
so we may be instruments of your peace.
We ask this in the name of Jesus,
our Savior and our Truest Peace.
Amen.
Our Father …
Hail Mary …
Glory Be …

PRAYER FOR THE THIRD WEEK OF ADVENT - JOY

We light this third candle on our

Advent Wreath for the gift of JOY.

Heavenly Father, This third week of Advent,

let us remember that the good news of

Jesus' birth has the power to bring us great

JOY this Christmas Season.

Our JOY isn't dependent on what is going

on in our life, in our world, or the people we

are with. It doesn't depend on the gifts we

give or the gifts we find under the tree.

No earthly thing can ever give us complete JOY.

Our JOY comes from You.

The JOY that flooded the hearts of the

shepherds, the angels, the hosts of heaven,

and Mary & Joseph is the JOY that still has

the power to overwhelm our hearts with rejoicing.

We thank You, Jesus, for the JOY

and PEACE you give,

AMEN

PRAYER FOR THE FOURTH WEEK OF ADVENT - LOVE

This week we light the fourth and last candle on

our Advent wreath and prepare our hearts

to receive the gift of your LOVE. We pray…

Heavenly Father, As we gather around our

illuminated Advent wreath, open our eyes to the

wonder of your love:

To goodness and beauty present even in dark days;

To hopeful hearts, peaceful moments and joyful being.

Help us to bring the light of your love to everyone

we meet. Nurture our souls with your compassion and mercy.

Help us to love You by accompanying and

serving our brothers and sisters whose needs

are so great; We thank you for the gift of Your Love,

Love that is unconditional and merciful,

Love that saves and frees us from despair;

Love that You graciously give to us.

Prepare our hearts to receive You again

and to grow in Your Love.

We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord,

who lives and reigns forever and ever.

Amen
