Clothing Drive

Mission Statement:

Providing clothing to the poor is a response to messages in the old and new testaments: The prophet Isaiah (Is 58:7) tells us: “When you see the naked, clothe them” and Jesus’s message in Mathew 25:36, referring to the poor, “lacking clothes and you clothed me”. St. Joan of Arc responds to these messages with two annual clothing drives, a winter clothing drive during Thanksgiving weekend and a summer drive in the middle of July. In addition if any parishioners have a large donation at any time during the year arrangements will be made to pick up the clothing.

Clothing is distributed to multiple locations of Catholic Relief Services in both the Trenton and Camden dioceses and other local charitable organizations.

Volunteers Needed:

Volunteers are needed during the collections weekends in Pedata Hall and on the following Mondays to bring the clothing to the distribution centers, and to pick up and deliver any individual large donations during the year. Volunteers are also needed for help making posters, delivering handouts in your neighborhood announcing the drives, and other work associates with this mission.
