Purificators are used to cleanse the chalice and cups used during mass. The corporal is placed on the altar to collect any crumbs that may fall from the hosts. Parish volunteers wash and iron approximately 45 purificators and 1 or 2 corporals a week. Currently, volunteers are assigned 1 week every quarter or 4 times a year. They can be picked up after noon on Monday and are returned by Friday noon.
Baptismal Bibs
Every baby baptized at St. Joan of Arc receives a bib. These bibs are cut, sewn and embroidered by parish volunteers. Approximately 200 bibs are made a year. A rolled hem is serged on the edge of each bib and then a symbol is embroidered by hand on the front of the bib.
